While Blob is one of the longest running super villains in the X-Men comics, he is often forgotten to larger, more popular villains such as Magneto, Juggernaut, Mastermind, Havok, Exodus, Mystique, Sabertooth, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch. The Blob is a super mutant with immense obesity that renders him unmovable. While he has superhuman strength, agility, and endurance, his thick blubber also allows him to survive bullets that are not fired at point blank range. While not completely impenetrable, much of the excess fat he carries help defend against many projectiles and explosives. The character has sometimes chosen to decrease and increase his weight by undergoing various weight loss plans throughout the X-Men series. Nevertheless, Blob often chose to stay massive in size so that he could be equipped to fight heroes with powers of explosions, projectile launches, and more.In one series, he was involved in a severe car crash after Scarlet Witch depowered the vast majority of mutant powers on earth. As a result, he underwent a severe diet through various weight loss plans, lost much of skin, and became a weight loss expert in Japan. While attempting to live a quiet life, he left much of his villainous past behind him and was rarely seen in other X-Men comic spinoffs. Despite this, Blob remains -literallya huge favorite among Marvel and X-Men lovers the world over.Nevertheless, the Blob remains one of the most entertaining and fun villains for Marvel fans. He was eventually cast to be played by an actor in the original X-Men movie, but his character never made it out of the pre-production phase. Eventually Freddie Dukes was played by Kevin Durand in X-Men Origins that centered on Wolverine. The character would go on to have roles in video games such as the original 1993 X-Men arcade game, X-Men: Reign of the Apocalypse, X-Men: Mutant Academy 2, and X-Men: Next Dimension. He would also appear in several animated television series as in multiple packages as a plastic figurine; at one time Blob was packaged next to Sabertooth, Wolverine's largest foe to date. While many fans lamented his decrease in size after undergoing various weight loss plans, he continues to live on as a favorite super villain. The Blog will always be remembered for his entertaining remarks, massive stature, and funny battle techniques.
