Babys physical development can be checked by keeping an idea about the weight and height the baby puts on in a particular duration of time. Mostly the weight of the born baby is about 2600 to 4500 grams irrespective of the gender. This weight is the cause of fat for insulation and also for the nutrition storage. Babies usually lose some weight after birth and gain back the same in 2-3 weeks itself. By the end of 4-5 months from birth the babys weight almost gets doubled. The mothers breast milk is very essential for the baby in the first few months for the babys physical development. The weight of the baby should be almost three times that of the born weight by the end of a year. The reason for the weight increases is the growth of muscles, bones and other body organs. For better babys physical development the baby should be eating on plenty and all variety of fruits, vegetables and cereals by the first birthday. Now regarding the height feature, this is equally important like the weight. Babies mostly have the height of around 45-55 centimeters of height when born. Height and weight both are an outcome of genetics feature but a healthy diet taken by the mother during the nine months pregnancy plays a vital role in babys physical development. Babies on an average grow 2-3 centimeters in a month. Thus the height becomes somewhat of 70-75 centimeters by the end of a year. Babys physical development is not a sudden change as we have seen above. The physical development takes place with time. In the first 2-3 moths the baby is not able to move his head by himself. In the next three months the baby is now capable to move his head. His hands and legs extend. In the forth fifth month the baby will try to hold objects and small toys. Hands and legs will become stronger and also be able to hold on things. The baby will enjoy this new skill of holding. In the sixth month the baby is now capable to sit with support. The backbone becomes stronger and is able to take the bodys load. In the seventh month the baby will become perfect in sitting back and holding toys in both hands. In the eighth month the baby is now completely independent for sitting and also rotating and turning around while doing so the baby will also try to crawl down on the floor. If the baby is a healthy one he might just not be able to take the body weight. In the ninth month the baby will try hard crawling and trying to catch things kept far off. In the tenth month the baby is capable to crawl with hands and legs straight. Along with this the baby will also try getting up and standing holding some support. Till the end of a year the baby is now able to take some few steps. Till the fifteenth month the baby is able to walk without support. If your child is not able to get a hold on these physical activities on this interval of time there is nothing to worry, each child is special and requires his own time to develop and grow.
