The colorful and highly expressionistic Florart of Canadian artist Magda Hanna depicts the human condition at both its most fragile and its most magnificent aspects. Born in Alexandria, Egypt, Magda has developed a new way to express her feelings on canvas that’s not only beautiful to behold but offers a new level of human connection and consciousness. What makes Magda's work so fascinating is that the medium is entirely unique. She uses organic materials on canvas (without paint or brush, protected by conservation glass) that are not only environmentally friendly but give each painting texture and add additional dimension to the overall effect.Above all, Magda strives to create much more than a pretty picture, developing paintings that “not only please the eyes but also touch the soul.” Through composition, color, form, and line, she seeks to give a voice and a sense of humanity to all who have suffered injustice, poverty, and misery in this life—to reach out and offer hope to those who need it the most for the love of art and humanity.Magda Hanna currently lives and works in Quebec, Canada. Hailing from Pakistan, Switzerland, Argentina, and everywhere in between, the artists on display cover many different worlds with their images. There is the seasoned fashion designer who currently creates fashion illustrations in the form of larger-than-life metal sculptures, each abstracted female figure a sensitive exploration of the body. There is the artist who only uses organic materials from pigment to tool, with the resulting images as wonderfully evocative and detailed as any traditional painting. Some works depict the human body as neon bouquets of colorful shapes; some as flattened, stained-glass-like jewels; some as figures in a carefully crafted allegory. Some artists create whole scenes for us while others show hyperrealistic bodies against blurry, atmospheric depths. There are farms and cities, kitchens and offices. Enigmatic Realms teaches us that for every pair of eyes there is a different world.
