Fabric:The first and foremostthing that you need to do is choose the fabric that your stuffed toy shouldhave. There are a variety of fabrics that you can select from depending on whatyou think is best for your stuffed toy. If you are making a number of stuffedanimals then you can choose more than one kind of fabric to go with your toys.Making a sketch:Once you have selectedthe fabric for the stuffed animals, you will have to sketch out the outline ofthe animals using a light colored marker. 1/4th inch of cloth has tobe left in order for it to be sewed appropriately.Cutting:From the sketch that youhave made on the fabric, you will need to cut out two identical figures. Onceyou cut them out, place them side by side and add whatever minute details youthink is needed on the fabric.Sewing:Once you have the sketchand minute details completed, its time to start sewing. Sew the two figuresinside-out, ensuring that a little hole is left to stuff whatever needs to goinside. Sewing it inside out will ensure that the threads are not seen from theoutside of the stuffed animals you are making.Stuffing:Once you are done sewingthe stuffed animals, it is time to stuff it with cotton. While stuffing theanimals, you have to make sure that the stuffing is not too tight or too loosefor that matter. To make sure that you have the right amount of stuffing, youcan lay your head on the stuffed animals as this would give you the appropriateidea. Once you are done stuffing the animal with cotton, sew the hole closed topack the stuffing inside well.Adding details:Add the eyes, the noseand other details to the stuffed animals once the stuffing is over. You can usebuttons for this purpose as they are easily accessible and come in a wide rangeof colors too. Make sure that you select the right color to go with your stuffed animals. Onceyou sew the eyes and nose in place, you can draw the ears of the animal on thecloth itself. If you have a readymade piece of ears available, you can sew thatto the fabric too. Your stuffed animal isready to play with. Hand it over to your four year old son and watch him lovehis new friend.
