Classic cartoons have been around for a very long time as you can probably imagine. Some of the original cartoons were created by Walt Disney, resulting in the old Mickey Mouse Cartoons. Fast forward a few generations and you have the old Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon which certainly left its mark. There have been plenty of old and new cartoons making their mark on animated history, and some might find that the old cartoon are actually preferable to the newer options of today. For example, we could discuss the original Gundam, which started in the mid-seventies. This was a show that touched on many controversial subjects and even weaved in an adult storyline. This was one of a few in the Gundam franchise that was actually translated to English, and it has many, many different sequel series such as Zeta Gundam, Gundam X, and even Gundam 00. For those who love mecha and military anime, this may very well be a great choice. Then again, there is also the American variant of the mech universe, and it takes place in a different world entirely. We are speaking of course of the Saturday morning Battletech series that appeared on television in the nineties. This wasn't the best cartoon, but it is as close as the Battletech fans have ever gotten to a decent television series. It has been rumored however that the production of this series was actually an attempt to sell toys.Aside from these, there are actually quite a few different old classic cartoons that gained popularity in the past, some of which are still in use today. Take for example the Charlie Brown Christmas Specials. There were plenty of these and they were in fact adapted from a comic strip. Though the creator of these comics is dead and gone, it lives on in the form of television specials and the occasional Sunday morning comic strip.Other Classical Cartoons GI Joe, Spiderman, and even The X-Men are great examples of old cartoons, and if you want to go back even further you might look at Speed Racer. All of the older cartoons tried to convey some type of message for children, and as you can imagine, many adults look back on these cartoons quite fondly. Some of these have even been released on DVD, much to the delight of older viewers. Looking at an classic cartoon will provide you with not only a window to the past, but also a source of entertainment unlike any other. The world cannot go back to the way it was all those years ago, but you can take part in the celebration of times long gone by watching old cartoons and sharing them with your family.
