Where,were,you,when...,thought entertainment Where were you when... My thoughts on Michael Jackson.
Music is a vast sea and there are lots of singers in the world who earn so much fame because of their singing, voice and style and Rob Thomas is one of them. He is one of the best singers whose songs become very popular and he has great fan Know your event objective. If the aim of the event is to educate people then the entertainment is not the key element of the event. You would do better to use some light form of entertainment during the break to help attendees unwind and rel
I am curious... and dead serious. I have read online posts of unprecedented admiration for Michael Jackson's music, dance, and humanitarian work -- each of them worthy of the man in his passing. However, I can't help but notice that the general population has done a complete 180. Where was all this love and admiration for his WORK when he needed it most? Radio stations had stopped playing his music, his music videos stopped flowing, and his record sales stalled too. Since his passing, radio stations have played a constant stream of Michael Jackson music, videos are flowing again, and record sales have hit the roof! I think it's twisted, personally, and hypocritical to grossly recognize his talents now... Is it just another opportunity to profit over the sensationalism of his death? As a multimedia artist myself, I too much prefer to be judged for my public work -- not be scrutinized with untruths about my personal life. I treat fellow creators in the same fashion -- as it should be. I am proud to say, that even through Michael's unwarranted worst, my young daughters (now 10yrs and 5yrs) were exposed to his music, and danced to 'Scream' and 'They Don't Really Care About Us' night after night. It makes me smile at the memory. Both of them consider Michael Jackson a favourite and listen to his musical contributions on their iPods daily. IT IS SUPPOSED TO ONLY BE ABOUT MUSIC AFTER ALL! Michael Jackson has made an incredible and lasting impact on us all through ALL his work. That was always there, even through the bad jokes and the unjust media portrayal that the public gobbled up all too readily. It's sad, and tragic even, that in the mediocre lives of the vast population, solace was found by chipping away at a man that deserved better. Michael Jackson was an experienced entertainer, a product molded to excel in his art forms. He was not experienced in the privileges of mundane life tasks and rituals that we take for granted -- how could he be? In an interview in his mid-twenties, Michael Jackson described learning about friendship for the first time. So he made mistakes...! So what? Realistically, who hasn't (and without the glare of the spotlight)? In his last trial where he was acquitted, he was assessed by psychological expert Dr. Stan Katz who reportedly identified Michael with mentally being age ten. If you know anything about abuse victims, without proper treatment and extensive work, they regress to the period of their life where abuse initially occurred. Whether Jordan Chandler's story circulating the web these days is a hoax or not, in my view '10yrs-old boys' do not customarily abuse older boys at the age of 12yrs+... To my fans, friends, colleagues, and others in my life with whom I have had conversations about Michael Jackson through the years, I reiterate my view... Michael Jackson simply does not fit the profile that was set against him. Do some research -- pedophiles are attracted to the prepubescent and openly discuss this without a sense of moral and lawful wrongdoing. Further to the hypocrisy, how could the quality of Michael's music suffer so poorly then and all of a sudden become great again? Wasn't it the same all along? Isn't he still a supposedly branded pedophile? Despicable, and I am embarrassed to be a part of the human race in this regard. What did it take? Death?? What's astounding is that he forgave us all for figuratively 'beating him up.' Is that not enough of an example for us to follow? Let me ask, what are we afraid of? That good people do in fact live amongst us? Who can honestly come forward now and admit to straying away with the norm due to media slander and pressure? Could we all step back from trash media now? Obviously, we didn't learn anything from the passing of Princess Diana... Will we now that Michael Jackson is gone too? What other talent will we lose next if we don't restrain our thirst for what is essentially hurtful gossip? Ask yourself how the Arts will fail in the future if we don't curb our ways... I, myself, have purposefully steered my daughters away from innocent ideas of becoming famous -- by exposing them to the darker side of human nature. Michael Jackson, although amongst others, was always my prime example. Truly sad. RIP Michael Jackson. May we learn from here.©2009 Sheila Quinn Wilson. All Rights Reserved.
