My first conference in the I gaming industry as well as a trip across the big pond ( I am based in Colombia ) took place recently as I attended both the Casino Affiliate Program conference and the electronic Gaming Conference as well. In one major sentence all I can say was that everything was truly perfect in every sense of the word. From an affiliate point of view, and being the first time there, not to mention Europe, there was a lot to learn. The first day was registration, a breeze. Twenty minutes into arrival, I was already visiting all the booths at the EIG conference in the convention centre, and was meeting all sorts of different companies offering I gaming services I did not know existed. From sponsors such as the government of the Isle of Man to casino software implementation companies were located in booths as well as major B2B server companies like 888.com were present. They were all very attentive to the participant needs, and offered all sorts of goodies to take back home from bags to wine openers to golf balls, not to mention information kits and company cards. Communicative models hosted some of the booths which made them much more attractive. There were also major financial service companies like Barclays Bank offering I Gaming companies several financial solutions. The conferences were superb. I had the chance to personally sit down with the head of search from a major SEO firm and ask him questions for about 3 hours before it was time for him to speak, which helped me out personally for my business in general. This alone made my trip. The folks from GPWA were also great, letting affiliates participate in this major event as well as helping them out in several ways. CAP was also superb. The chance to meet all the representatives from the major brands was put into action, and all the major firms were there. It was great to finally meet all the people from email conversations in person, and several questions were cleared up as well as the exertion of deal making was ever present. Major CEO´s from gaming companies as well as SEO experts hosted conferences; were open for questions, and gave several new insights as to where the industry is going and how people from all facets of the industry can take advantage of situations happening in the world today. I highly recommend anyone that participates in the industry to go to these major events as one learns a lot from the people at the conferences as well as the brands present. I highly recommend attendance to future meetings such as the one held late January in London as well as the Spring break and spring season to be held in Cyprus and Amsterdam. It is worth the trip as the insights and points of views are superb as well as the networking interaction was great with all of the parties held at the major clubs.
