After years of running a training department. I know the problems that trainers face every day. This really isnt a secret because I was so amazed by it, I tell everyone I see. Im very happy to be able to share it with you.Not long ago, the company I worked for, hired a consultant to give a training class. After the class the consultant and I were talking about presenting training and the problems that happen. Holding a black permanent marker, I explained that one thing that really bothered me was having someone use a permanent marker on my white board. With that, I showed him the marker and proceeded to draw big cross marks on the white board. You can imagine the look I received. The consultant was sure that I had lost my mind and said, what are you doing, you just destroyed your white board! In the past I would have thought the same thing. In the past to remove permanent markers Ive used the liquids and creams, and it always took a lot of effort and sometimes left a shadow. One day I was shown the secret. The person that showed me, shared the following story:While working with a bunch of teenagers he was surprised when a couple of them started to draw on his white board with permanent black markers. Class had to start and there wasnt another white board so he gave his class writing with his dry-markers right over the drawings. After the class he was looking at the white board knowing how much work he was in for. He started erasing the dry-marker. When he noticed that everywhere that the dry-marker crossed the permanent marker the permanent marker line was gone. He tried it again. Using his dry-marker he went over the permanent mark line and when the erased the dry-marker the permanent marker was gone. I could wait to try it and it worked. Using any dry-marker go over the permanent marker then erase.Oh, the consultant that saw me using the permanent marker was also amazed when I removed them. He couldnt wait to show everyone in his office. Glen Ferguson - Trainer's Workbench
