On April 14, 2017 Ms. Anita Singh met Mr. Vaibhav Yadav for a brief interview about the current developments in Education sector of Delhi, India. Vaibhav is the spokesperson for GSTA, author and an entreprenuor. He has active in field of Education since 2014. He is known to be an advocate of Government School teachers.We asked Mr. Yadav why is there unrest among the educators of Delhi when it comes to government. He said that the teachers are being potrayed negatively by the Governement to shift the blame. He claimed that Government of Delhi is unable to keep their promises made my them during elections for education. According to Mr. Vaibhav, schools don't have basic infrasturcture, there is a shortage of teachers, lack of discipline and rising corruption in Education department are a few reasons. As published on his personal website, the quality of education in Government schools is degrading despite overwork and efforts by the teachers. He claims that the results of the students from Government schools are much higher than of private schools. He is known for his hostile tweets from his twitter account. Moving on from this issue, We asked him how would he propose changes in the current state of Eductaion Sector in Delhi, to which he said that "Teachers need to be respected in every manner by the students and the administartion because they impart valuable education to the students and lay the foundation for their future careers". He complains that already overworked teachers are burdened with extra duties such as Polio Duty, Election Duty, Census Duty, etc. which should be assigned to this community.
