NEET – UG (or) National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is an entrance exam for candidates who wants to study any graduate in Medical Course (MBBS), Dental Course (BDS) or any Post Graduate Course like MD/MS from the government colleges (or) private colleges in India. NEET-UG will be for Undergraduate education for MBBS and BDS courses. NEET exam was conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), NEET-UG was replaced the AIPMT (All India Pre Medical Test) and all individuals MBBS exams are conducted by States (or) Colleges. Supreme Court of India has announced to conduct the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) – 2016 in two phases. All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) to be held on 1st May 2016, this test would be considered as Phase I (or) first phase for NEET 2016. Students who are not registered for the AIPMT first phase (or) phase I, has one more chance to apply for the NEET 2016, it should be on 24th July 2016 (i.e., Phase II). And the both phase’s results will be combined releasing on 17th August 2016. The CBSE will provide All India Ranks list. According to the Rank and Merit list, counseling call will be scheduled. On 11th April 2016, the Supreme Court has announced the statement, i.e., “The admission into the private medical colleges will be on the basis of entrance test conducted under the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Important Dates:The following dates are as follows;NEET Phase-I Exam Date : 1st May 2016NEET Phase-II Exam Date : 24th July 2016Phase I and II Combined Results: 17th August 2016 Eligibility Criteria:In order to appear in NEET-UG 2016 exam, applicants must be an Indian citizen (or) an Overseas citizen of India.Applicants must be completed 17 years of age at the time of admission into the 1st year of M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. course.The upper age applicants seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats in Medical/Dental colleges run by State Government, Union Bank of India, Municipal and other local authorities in India, except State Bank of Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir.Candidate must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-Technology and English with minimum 50% marks should be obtained.Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe (or) other Backward Classes, minimum 40% and for General Applicants minimum 50% marks should be obtained in Chemistry, Physics and Biology/Bio-Technology.Those who are appearing for Class XII examination in 2015, can also be eligible for the entrance test.Course Duration:MBBS: The duration of MBBS course is Four (4) years and 6 months, followed a by one year internship.BDS: The duration of these BDS courses is divided into Four (4) years of training and One (1) year compulsory rotatory internshipExam Pattern: NEET-UG Entrance exam consists of 180 questions divided into 4 equal sections i.e.,Physics: 45 QuestionsChemistry: 45 QuestionsBotany: 45 QuestionsZoology: 45 Questions Total duration for completion of 180 questions is 3 Hours (i.e., 180 Minutes) and has 0.25 (or) 1/4th negative marks for wrong answers.
