The PWDis finalizing details to set up two cells in Goa and while an official deadline has not been set, the cells are expected to be functioning in one month's time.Highly placed PWD officials confirmed that bowing to demands from various quarters, including the traffic police, the department has drawn up plans to set up two 'road engineering cells' for either district of Goa.Whenever estimates for construction of roads are prepared, these will be submitted for the scrutiny of the road engineering cells. The cell will study the project and ensure that the geometrics are correctly designed from the safety point of view.Chennai Engineering CollegesThe only problem is that such a road engineering cell is not in existence anywhere in India and therefore Goa does not have any model to follow.
