Translation jobs are undertaken by professional translators who are well versed with at least two languages.Translation can work at two levels: inter-state or regional language translation and inter-national or foreign language translation. Some forms of parent involvement with the school such as communications with school, volunteering, attending school events and parent--parent connections appeared to have little effect on student achievement, especially in high school. Climbing up on a large log to seeover the briar patches, he finally located her, but in getting offthe log he stepped on a rotten spot and his foot went through to itshollow heart. Slipping into a hollow log would surprise any of us,but when a large black bird, with no feathers on its head, ran fromthe end of the log and with a defiant hiss, sprang into the air andflew away into the dusk - well, Farmer Parsons said, " I s'num."Hissuspicions were aroused. He looked into the log through the hole thathis foot had made and there on the bottom were two little creaturesall covered with downy white feathers. Around them were broken bitsof eggshell from which they had recently emerged. Thus it was thatJack and Jill, the Vulture Twins, were discovered in the place thatwas to be their home for more than one hundred days. Thefirst eight weeks of their lives they lived almost in seclusion. OnlyFarmer Parsons visited them, and he only occasionally. Their downywhite plumage was fast disappearing, and in its place came a coat ofheavy, dark brown feathers. Quite often, when they thought themselvesunobserved, they ventured to the mouth of their large log and lookedout into the world about them. At such times they appeared very smalland hardly able to make their way in the outer world into which theywere soon to venture. Butat the same time they were learning how to survive, that they hadmeans of protecting themselves. Their bills were becoming hard andsharp to pick meat from bones of dead animals, because that is theway the vultures get their food. Their talons were also becomingsharp. They had yet another means of protection. This is notphysically injurious like a scratch from a talon or a bite from thebill, but it is decidedly unpleasant. They have the power toregurgitate partly-digested food, and, as it was decayed before itever entered the bird's stomach, it is most disagreeable and a veryeffective means of making humans and other enemies keep theirdistance. Howmuch longer would these birds be satisfied with a log home? Alreadythey had learned how to fly and they needed only more strength andpractice to enable them to soar through the sky like their parents.Would they remain until the next Sunday? The next Sunday came. Withmingled emotions of doubt Farmer Parsons returned to the nest. But nodefiant hiss greeted him, and it was evident that Jack and Jill hadflown.
