You know, French is one of the most fun and romantic languages in the world. Think of German, Spanish, or even English. German is very clunky, spread-out, and difficult to learn. Spanish can be fun, but is very fast-spoken and thus somewhat difficult to catch onto. Then think about English, which some foreigners have said is one of the hardest languages to learn, especially with the grammar and what not. Then think of French. Its smooth, poetic rhythm lends itself to beautiful, musical speech patterns which are not only easy to learn but fun to speak. I'd like to give you three ways to learn beginner French to more effectively achieve fluency in this beautiful language.1. You need a French language program. There are many French language programs to choose from. From Rosetta Stone to Rocket French, Fluenz French to Pimsleur French; all these are awesome programs that have turned out fluent students in the French language. If you are more adept at learning visually, you might choose a French software, like Rosetta Stone or Fluenz. However, if you're more of an audio learner, Rocket French or Pimsleur French are your better options. No matter which one you choose, you are bound to find success.2. You need a reputable French dictionary. The only French dictionary I trust is Larousse French/English Dictionary. Unlike English-rooted dictionaries that present pronunciation keys in English terms only, this dictionary gives you pronunciations the way a French-speaking person would pronounce the word. 3. You need the desire to have fun! You're never going to learn a new language if you take a ho-hum approach to learning it. This romantic language is fun to learn, so you should never find yourself getting bored or becoming frustrated. Using any of the recommended language learning helps above, you will be able to treat yourself to a fun learning experience every time you sit down to study.
