Owing to the considerable increase in the business sector and thus, an enormous increase in the complexity of the organisational struc
A high number of people who buy computers spend a lot of time before the actual purchase doing research to ensure that they are buying the right computer for their needs, especially if they are buying it with the intention of starting a home based business where they can work at home and either supplement or replace their current income. So following all this research and then buying the computer that is going to make their fortune for them you would think that they would actually take the necessary steps to look after its health!! What do you think is liable to happen if you don't look after your computer, yes the chances are at some stage it will crash and you will lose all of your hard work, then what will happen to your new business? OK, how do you look after the health of a computer? You start by keeping it clean inside and out, to keep it bacteria free on the outside and virus free on the inside. Did you know that in tests on hundreds of keyboards it was found that the majority of the them were 5 times dirtier than the average toilet seat!! I bet you are sat with your hands in the air at this moment aren't you going, urghh? Of all the statements I could make on this I felt that was the one that would hit home the most the importance of cleaning your computer, especially the keyboard, at least weekly. Start by unplugging the keyboard, turn it uside down and shake it around to dislodge all the bits under the keys you could also, very careful, use the dusting brush on your vacuum cleaner or is you wish you can buy special little vacuum cleaners specifically for keyboards. Once you have done this use anti-static wet wipes specific to computers and wipe over the keys, the casing and the screen and then reconnect your keyboard. There are various steps for keeping the inside of your computer clean, to start with if you have never done one do a back up immediately, now this is going to take a long time so be aware of this when you start and have at least 18 CDs handy just in case. Once you have done the first back up you can either do this at least once a month or on a daily basis by backing up the work done that day, which will take a lot less time when done daily than when done on a monthly basis and you will lose less vital information in the event of a problem or computer crash. Also each day if you go into your Windows folder on your C:/ drive and delete all the files in the Temp folder, then open your internet browser and under Tools on the toolbar open Internet Options and delete cookies, clear history and empty temporary files. and Some of the other things that you can do from your computers system tools (click on start - all programmes - accessories - system tools) are disk clean up and disk defragmenter. Now when you do a defrag be aware that the first time you do one it will take ages, because what it does is move all the files to file the empty spaces left by deleted files and moves the spaces all together at the end which helps speed up your machine and make it easier for it to save information. As with back ups as long as you do it on a regular basis and you can set your machine to do this automatically, the follow the first one they do not take anywhere near as long. Now the main 2 things that even if you do nothing else you must make sure are on your computer is a virus checker software and spyware software which should be set to do everytime your machine is turned on. It may sound a lot to do on a regular basis but it isn't once you have done the first procedures it will take you no time at all but your computer will be bacteria and virus free, isn't it worth it just for the peace of mind it will bring? If you are not sure about anything on here I would recommend you look into them to find out how to do them and then do them on a regular basis that suits you and your machine.
