This time we present a game that you are sure to try - ifyou care. Youda games welcome you at the Red Cross and Red CrescentMovement, namely its Emergency Response Unit, where doctors, engineersand volunteers work together to help victims of natural disasters, military conflicts etc. You will save lives while having fun - andpart of all proceeds of the game will be donated to the real Red Cross.Ever dreamt of traveling all over the world? Grab the chance!Iam sure you have heard about the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The Movement exists to help people all over the world who foundthemselves in need. Red Cross always acts according to the sevenfundamental principles, which are Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality,Independence, Voluntarity, Unity and Universality. You, as the memberof Red Cross Emergency Response Unit, will also learn to use theprinciples in your life. The ERU completes its missions in the hottest spots of the world, traveling wherever their help is needed most urgently. You will controlthe whole operation of the unit, managing the resources and staff andsaving people's lives. Before you start the game you have to choose your difficulty level- I suggest Easy for the first time, because there will be quite a lotof things to deal with. For each mission in one of 11 high-resolutionmaps you have a limited amount of time to complete it (watch the clockin the bottom of the screen), a limited number of vehicles, teams andsupplies and a number of tasks to fulfill. There are main tasks, likegiving medical aid to sick people, shelter to homeless or reliefsupplies to those deprived of them, and extra tasks like clearingdebris or establishing contacts with local authorities. Completing maintasks is critical for passing the mission, while extra tasks just giveyou additional points and may be left unattended.Onceyou start a mission, for example, helping victims of an earthquake inArgentina, your first action will be building your base camp, wherealll your supplies will be stored. After that you can send your firstteam to the spot where it is needed most desperately. For this you havesome vehicles with limited capacity, so you have to control theavailable transport and supplies necessary to reach success. Most of the tasks can be performed automatically, that is you justmake the decisions about where to send whom and what actions toundertake. But in some cases your manual control is required, like whenyou deliver relief supplies with a plane or when your teams encountersome obstacles, which will sometimes multiple and unexpected. Actually, mostly you act as a real manager, but sometimes your driving orcommunication skills will be handy.I could go in much more detail, but I think you havealready grabbed the main idea - ERU is not just fun (though fun it is),but also a great way to help others. Are you up to it?
