There is no issues with the sliding mechanism of this music phone. It slides up smoothly and in a controlled manner to reveal a numeric keypad. At 12.5mm, it is extremely slim and weighs a mere 86g. Like most of the recent Sony Ericsson handsets, the W910i drops the Return key and sports Call/End keys instead. The big problem with the W910i is freezing and switching off. Available in either Hearty Red or Noble Black the W910 is an HSDPA-enabled slider phone that features all the usual stats like Stereo Bluetooth, a built-in digital camera and dedicated music buttons plus a couple of hidden tricks up its sleeve. While some people may find the W910i a tad too wide, one of the key advantages of this form factor is really a more comfortable fit to the face when making phone calls. Audio quality is excellent as usual, with SE's Mega Bass feature to enhance bass frequencies. You can plug in a conventional stereo headset or use a Bluetooth stereo headset if you prefer. So you can circle a group of tracks that match your mood to create a playlist, or simply select individual tunes as you wish. While audio quality from the headset was clear and crisp, we did notice that music played using the onboard speakers sounded somewhat flat and a tad too sharp. The Sony Ericsson mobiles also comes with a large and crisp QVGA display that certainly makes it ideal for watching videos as well as playing games in landscape viewing mode. The Walkman music player 3.0 is very easy to use, with controls on the front of the phone, and is a fully-featured digital music player. You can create and manage play lists, shuffle songs, equalize, etc, etc. Other Sony Ericsson software such as the Blogger tool, the ability to find out what tracks you playing via the TrackID are also included as standard. The supplied software lets you transfer music from PC to phone, and rip music from CD's. Storage is limited to 35 Mbytes, so you'll want to add a memory card.
