The NSN has reportedly said that 3G usage in the country has dramatically rose to 21 Petabytes from 8 petabytes at December 2012 (1 Petabyte = 1024 Terabytes). The company has reportedly said that every year, world average is doubling roughly. The 2G and 3G services have generated data traffic which is conjointly grew up by 87% in the nation in the year 2013. According to Girotra, over 80000 cellphone towers have been transmitted 3G signals to around 30 to 40 percent part of the country. It must be said to be a drastic growth if that coverage rises up to 70 to 80 percent. When 4G technology is growing, a lot of major telecom operators are looking forward to upgrade 3G equipment. Girotra expects 3G to be a major service of mobile internet for around 2 to 3 years after that we are going to see the blend of 3G and 4G and 2G will also grow in the country. At present, NSN manages over 1,60,000 mobile towers in the nation. The company manages the network along with traffic of over 280 million of active users.
