I have always chosen small manoeuvrable vans for mybusiness. I don't like the thought of driving around with a massive panelvan - especially delivering to houses in West London, which is the bulk of mybusiness. I run a Florists and make a lot of deliveries. Usuallythere are no more than a handful of bouquets in the back of the van, so thereis no problem with space. But for special occasions, such as weddings and, ofcourse, Mother's Day, I could do with some more room. I asked around in the trade and also a friend of mine fromthe pub who knows about vans what I should replace my ageing Vauxhall Astravanwith, given the problems I have. The general consensus was that I neededa van about the size of a Citroen Berlingo. So I popped down my local Citroen van dealer, (there's ahuge on in Brentford, West London) to have a look around. I was amazed atthe amount of room in the back of the Citroen Berlingo. The sales guythere, (not too pushy) told me that if I racked out the back of the vanproperly then I could stack my florists buckets and have room to lay thepre-tied bouquets on a shelf flat above them. He gave me a couple of numbersof companies that provide these kinds of racking systems.I made a couple of calls and, although these things aren'tcheap, I don't intend replacing my next van for some while.I looked on the internet at some vans sales websites to see if there wereany good, late Citroen Berlingo vans for sale, but he prices were not muchcheaper than the deal on the new Citroen Berlingo from the deal at CitroenLondon West.I am now the proud owner of a brand new silver Citroen Berlingo- I got a deal on the graphics through Tom at the dealership so it looksfantastic! I went for the Enterprise version with all the bits onit. So I've got aircon, (at last) and a CD Player plus central lockingand power steering. Its economical Ive hardly had to fill it up andits comfy too. I prefer driving it to my car! Anyone want to buy aFord Focus? Its really helped my business, as I dont have to pay forextra help for the big jobs and paying extra petrol money for other vehiclesall going to the same place. The Berlingo looks professional and Imconvinced Ill get extra business from the graphics down the side of it evenwhen Im out and about in the evenings in it. Just thought Id share this with you in case you were thinkingof replacing your van, as the London LEZ wont allow older vans inside the M25.
