What size skip do I need? Please see our size guide under the skip sizes section which will give you 'a close as possible measurement'. Unless ground space is limited, try and go for a slightly larger skip as you will be surprised as once you get started how quickly they fill up.What can / can't I put into a skip?Skips should be used to dispose of inert, non-hazardous waste i.e wood, bricks, metal, earth, household furniture, chairs, sofas to name a few. We are unable to accept asbestos, fridges, fridge freezers, gas bottles and tyres. If you have any queries about these items please contact our offices where a member of the team would be happy to assist you.How full can the skip be?Skips must be level loaded (please note this is painted on every skip) - i.e they must not be filled above the edge of the skip. This is to ensure safe transportation. It is illegal to overfill a skip.Where can I put the skip?If it is on private property, then virtually anywhere the lorry can reach. Some of our lorries have 'extending arms' allowing us to drop skips in places other companies can't! (please request a lorry with extending arms on booking a skip). If the skip is going to be placed on the road then we will need space for the lorry to park in order to drop the skip directly behind it.Do I need a skip permit? If the skip is going on the public highway then yes. If a permit cannot be obtained and no private land is available then we can offer a wait and load service.
