I know we toss around the term 'work life balance' a lot. Some people say it's really not possible. Some people say it's easily achievable. Which camp do you fit into? For me, I can be pretty good at it most of the time. Not all of the time, Most of the time. But with the holidays upon us it can be a bit more challenging. My youngest daughter is flying in from Phoenix and because of her work will only be here 5 days. That's not very long! But this I can promise you, when she is not with her friends we will be together and I will not work a lick. I can do work around her social schedule if I want to.I think it's very important to know your priorities when the holidays can bring so much busyness in it. There is nothing I like better than knowing that work 'things' can really slow down during the Holidays. At least that is how I design it for me.What I do look forward to is having some free time to get some projects done that have been put on the back burner. For me this is a great time to play catch up and to be able to do that not in a hurried frantic way was just slowly getting things complete and the thrill of crossing things of my list.Maybe I could even sit on the couch in my office and read in the afternoon. Of course, that is where many of my projects are being stashed so I guess I'll have to get them done and off the couch. But what a reward it would be right? I am savoring that already. So, how will you schedule yourself during these next couple of weeks? Remember, you own your own business, it is your call. No one can tell you how to run your business except you.Think about it. Make a plan. It doesn't have to be structured or detailed but with enough penciled in that you will feel a sense of accomplishment during this Holiday season.Be sure to spend time with those you love, be more relaxed than you may usually be and enjoy the peacefulness. And if it's not peaceful, then what can you do add more peace to your time.Be in charge of yourself. Give yourself time to be still. Don't let others tell you how to spend your holidays. Just sit back, breathe and enjoy the love!Action Step: Take a look at your schedule and evaluate if it allows your work time, or no work time, or time with children and friends. Get your priorities and keep your boundaries clear and clean.
