When choosing an industry or niche to get into, one of the classic teachings is that you should do what you love and the money will follow.Well, that's not always the case, especially if what you love is something no one else cares about.So what should you do?In today's market, I believe you look for a niche where others are making money, and you start from there. Start teaching in a niche that has proven revenues. Once you start to learn and understand the specific needs of your niche, you can then specialize in that niche based on what the people need AND what the others are not providing.Now, you may not even like or love the industry you start with, but it's better to have revenues coming in than not to.I believe it's safe to say that there are few, if any, untapped profitable niches that people aren't already selling information about, unless it's a brand new product or service that doesn't exist yet.So, even though you may not 'love' the niche you're considering, that shouldn't stop you from entering the niche.Think about this. I highly doubt you want to start a business on a gamble. I believe you want to start a business that has a proven formula, so you can make real money and help real people right off the start without having to try out a bunch of different ideas or methods that have no track record of success. Isn't that right?Plus, the benefit of starting off this way is you can always adapt to the needs of your clients and prospects down the road. More than likely, your niche has multiple ways to make money. Once you build a relationship with your prospects, you can customize your products and services to exactly what they need based on what they need help with... not with what you 'think' they need.So, should you do what you love or what makes you money? The answer is... both, with an asterisk. You should first do what makes you money and then you can incorporate what you love into what makes you money.Here's a tip... Look for information products about your niche. If you can find information products that 'teach' people how to make money in that niche, that's a great sign.Here's another tip...
