Are you looking for a terrific paper shredder that's great for light use? Do you want something that works well but also looks great? If so, the Swingline Style+ may be the right machine for your shredding needs. This is a product that was recently marketed under the GBC brand but it's now being produced by Swingline instead. However, it's still worth checking out. We gave this shredder a try to find out what its strengths were and if it had any weaknesses that people should be aware of. Read on to find out what we discover. Strengths: The Style+ is known for being one of the most stylish shredders you can buy. This machine is nicely designed and it has a great black-and-white color scheme. It's also nice and slim with dimensions of 15" (height) x 8" (width) x 15" (depth). This shredder can process up to 9 sheets per pass so it's good for either personal or shared use among 2 or 3 people. The cutting mechanism was built to handle some non-paper items including credit/debit cards and paper clips. This machine can shred continuously for up to 6 minutes. As far as security goes, the Style+ will give you quite a lot. It's a cross-cut device so you can confidently shred documents containing banking information, passwords, Social Security numbers, and so on. The Style+ has a 3-gallon waste bin that's located in a pullout drawer. This makes it really easy to empty the bin so you can get back to shredding as soon as possible. This shredder's cutters are backed by a 5-year warranty. The entire machine is covered for 2 years. Weaknesses: While the 9-sheet shredding capacity will be sufficient for most users, it also means that this device isn't really suited for heavy-duty departmental use. Although the Style+ can take care of your unwanted banking cards, it can't shred CD's or DVD's. If you need to shred those kinds of items, a multimedia shredder would probably be a much better choice. This machine is good for processing everyday office documents but it doesn't offer enough security for highly classified materials. Also, it needs a 30-min rest after it's been used continuously for 6 minutes. The Style+ doesn't have anti-jam features, so you'll want to make sure you don't try to shred too much paper at once. Overall, the Swingline Style+ looks great and it's been nicely engineered for light usage by up to 3 people. It has a decent shredding capacity and it's always great when a shredder can take care of document fasteners and credit/debit cards. This machine will give you a good amount of security and the warranties are excellent. However, be aware that this device isn't really meant for heavy-duty use, so it's not a good choice if you need a departmental shredder. Also, it doesn't offer enough security for highly classified documents. But if you need a machine for light usage, the Style+ is a great choice. If it sounds like a fit for you, take a look at it today. Article Tags: Swingline Style+, Paper Shredder
