As we all know to live in this world we have to perform some activity by which we can earn money. There are many activities by which we can earn money and meet the standards to live in this society. And from one of them is franchise. Franc Small offices have unique needs, and thatincludes document shredding. Designed with the smaller business inmind, the Dahle 20314 is a cross-cut shredder that offers Level 3security and brings you into compliance with federal regulations. The
The Fellowes Powershred SB-97CS is afeature-rich shredder designed for use in a small office. Here is acloser look at some of the strengths and weaknesses of the FellowesPowershred SB-97CS. Strengths: Right off the bat, we have tocommend the SB 97CS for offering a Level 3 security shredder for thesmaller office setting. Level 3 security means that the particlesproduced by the shredding process are in a cross-cut pattern and wouldbe extremely difficult for anyone with malicious intentions to gleanany information from them. Shredding confidential documents at thislevel is not only a good idea, it is currently a matter of federalregulation. In 2005, congress passed a law saying that businesses andindividuals must properly destroy documents containing the types ofinformation that identity thieves can use to commit their crimes. TheSB 97CS shreds documents to the standards of the regulations so usingit will not only protect you from ID theft, it will protect you fromthe hefty fines and litigation that can result from non compliance withthe law. Other than security, if there's anything we canappreciate about a shredder, it's safety. The SB 97CS more than meetsour tough standards by including Fellowes' unique (and in fact, patented) Safe Sense system which uses sensors to detect body heat andstop the shredder in its tracks if the user's hands get too close tothe opening. As we said this is an utterly unique system so you aren'tgoing to find it on any other manufacturers' machines. The SB 97CS alsohas other more standard safety features like power cutoff when there isan open cabinet door, or when the waste bag is full. TheSB 97CS offers some pretty impressive capacity as well. Seventeensheets of paper per pass is nice for a small office Level 3 machine, and a speed of 12 FPS is not bad either. What we really like, however,is the ability the SB 97CS gives you to shred not only credit cards, but compact discs as well - a very nice touch in the digital age, and afeature you are not likely to find in a lot of small office shredders. Otherthings to like about the SB 97CS include: trim, slim and sleek design, handy casters, and a very low noise level during typical operation. Weaknesses: Not so much a weakness as something to be aware of is thefact that the SB 97CS is meant for one to three users, and is not ashredder that is designed to be used continuously throughout the day.Company literature states that you can run the SB 97CS for 20 straightminutes before it will need a break of 40 minutes. 20 minutes at 17sheets per pass is a lot of shredding, so it should be fine for even arather busy small office, just not for constant, mail-room type use. Thefeed opening width of 9 inches will see you through the vast majorityof shredding jobs (i.e. letter and legal sheets), but if you regularlyshred larger documents such as green bar computer paper, you may wantto find a machine with a larger feed width.
