This article isdesigned to offer answers to common questions about the Fastback P31Powis Printer. This is the second article with P31 FAQs, if you don'tsee your question listed here you may want to check out Part 1. What are the "default formats"? The default formats are the built-in settings for the font type, style,and size. For the PowisPrinter, they are Univers Condensed, Normal,and AutoFit. Each time you turn off your printer, the machine assumesthese settings. For example: if you change the font to 12 point Times,Bold-Italic, and then turn off the machine and turn it back on, themachines resets, and the formats revert to Univers Condensed, Normal,and AutoFit. Can I change the default formats? Yes. Simply press MENU, press the right arrow key three times, andpress "U" for User Settings. Now press the right arrow key once to moveto the next screen. You should see options to set the default font andstyle. Select the font and style you prefer, and the printer will nowuse these as the default formats. Can I enter text in all three zones? Yes! Not only can you enter text in all three zones, but each zone canbe oriented differently. You can also have different fonts, font sizesand styles in each. The display screen now shows you the text in eachzone, followed by the orientation, font type, size, and style you haveselected. However, there is a way to get more than one color on the strip.Conceivably, you could print a strip in gold, change the gold cartridgeto silver, then reprint the strip. You would then have both gold andsilver on your strip.
