From the Wisdom Vault...The Freedom to Choose SuccessAs those of us in the U.S. celebrate Independence Day this week, I've been thinking about freedom. Most of us are so privileged and we enjoy many personal freedoms. If you're reading this ezine, I imagine that the desire for more freedom is part of the reason why you've pursued the field of coaching. It may be one of your core values. What does freedom look like to you? This is a good time to sit down and write that out, or talk it over with your friends and family this week.As a coaching business owner I feel I have ultimate freedom. I choose:- My schedule, my fees, the way I work with clients- How many weeks of vacation I take every year (six!)- What days of the week I take off (Tuesday and Friday)Compared to my old life as a corporate exec -- there's no contest. My income is more than double while I work ten hours less each week than I used to. More importantly, I get to do authentic, meaningful work supporting hundreds of people to more prosperity, while stretching myself every day. I never would have guessed I could have all of that freedom and such a quality life as well. It's true -- to get that ultimate freedom I do sacrifice security and push past comfort zones continually. It's 100% worth it to me.Despite all that, there are some days when I'm so focused on my future or my past, my "problems" and opportunities, that I forget to enjoy my freedom. On those days I have to ask myself:Am I thinking and acting free today? What thoughts are enslaving me?How have I kept myself down? The struggle for freedom is ever present in the stories of coaches I talk to every week. They want to be a successful coach, work for themselves, contribute more to the world, but sometimes they feel held back in old jobs, old habits and old fears. That true commitment to their coaching business and lifestyle goals is sometimes far away.I understand. There are risks. It is interesting to note that few who experience the freedom of being an entrepreneurial coach ever go back to working for someone else.If being a successful coach is part of your picture of freedom, let Prosperous Coach support you on that path. Here is what a new member told us recently:Accessing the Wisdom Vault at Prosperous Coach makes me feel like I've inherited an unexpected fortune.
