Until the turn of the twentieth century, firearms were necessary for one’s survival in all continents on the earth including Antarctica. Guns became essential for food and protection from the time they were invented. In times before the twentieth century, most everyone was familiar with firearms because they were a part of everyday life. Most family members became trained in the use of firearms as a normal family function when growing to adulthood. Both boys and girls were taught at a young age that guns are to be respected and only used when required. The gun was thought of as commonplace as cars are today. Since the firearm was invented, people used them for survival from man or beast. Until recent times, most people were trained to use a gun based on the necessity of life. (1)Many people today think of guns in an entirely different mindset from earlier times for many reasons. Recently, it seems people are being taught to fear guns instead of being taught to respect them for what they are, a tool used for specific functions just as other tools are used for specific jobs. Firearms have their place in modern society as much as in earlier times mentioned above. Unfortunately, a few have used guns for the appalling ruthless taking of human life for evil reasons. However, these examples of evil are not acceptable by the masses owning guns just as everyone else choosing not to own a gun. When a firearm is used for evil purposes, most everyone, including those owning and carrying a weapon is also sickened by these acts of violence by cowards with evil intent. Many people today feel they do not need to own a weapon for whatever reason, usually because of fear of handling a firearm. Historically, misunderstanding and the unknown causes fear in almost everyone. This is only a natural response to having a fear of the unknown, especially when in this case; many people are being taught to fear firearms from a young age. However, being trained on an object or educated on any subject gives one confidence in themselves because they now understand what was once unknown, so their fear subsides. Becoming familiar with a weapon is technically no different than becoming familiar with any other object. Once familiar with a gun, one loses fear but not respect based on knowledge. Do not mistake respect for fear. Training and education are the keys to dispersing fear while gaining respect for something and give understanding where once there was none. Almost everyone has a natural fear of the unknown and rightfully so. However, one can dispel fear with respect and knowledge; this is no secret.Historically, most people owned firearms without fear and used them for food and protection, not evil. Unfortunately, we are being taught to fear guns instead of being educated and trained to use them and properly respect them for what they are, just another tool. In this case, firearms are used for food and security. One may ask security from what? My answer to those with questions can do something as simple as watching the nightly news for their answer.Read more from https://www.articleelf.com - Article ElfReferenceGood Cause Requirements for Carrying Guns in Public.
