Carpets are splendid features to every home. A rug changes the appearance of a room a lot, and makes it look warmer and more colourful. Rooms without carpets are like caves, they look empty and you can hear an echo when talking. Moreover, cold from the walls and from the floor transfers to your body and you feel uncomfortable. It is very unpleasant not to feel good in your own house. Carpets isolate your feet from the ground and decorate, but they have one disadvantage. They have to be cleaned and maintained on regular basis. I want to share a few effective carpet cleaning techniques, which will help you maintain your floorings more easily. Some of the methods may seem a little unusual, but I've tried them and they work really well. I will also write a few things which you should not do, in order to keep your carpets in a good condition. The first technique is my favourite. It is extremely effective and fascinating. When I first heard of it, I thought that it is impossible to work, but I decided to try it anyway and I was pleasantly surprised by the result. So, let's get to the point. This method is for removing chewing gum and candle wax from carpets and all kinds of fabrics. You need a piece of brown paper or a sheet of newspaper, it doesn't matter, and an iron. Put the paper on the chewing gum/candle wax spot and switch on the iron to heat it up. Once the appliance is hot, iron the paper and the sticky substance will transfer to it. I know it sounds crazy, but this is the only effective and fast way to manage these problems. Bad odours on carpets are something quite normal. Every time a stain happens, your dog or cat uses your flooring as a toilet, or your rug gets wet and starts growing mould, an unpleasant smell appears. All bad odours can be easily removed from your carpet, though, and you don't even have to buy expensive detergents from the supermarket. You can deodorise with baking soda or cornstarch. All you have to do is to sprinkle either of these products all over your carpet and to let is stay overnight. On the next morning, vacuum your flooring and the odour will go away with the baking soda/cornstarch. There is one small detail which you must be aware of, your rug has to be completely dry before you sprinkle the deodorisers. A common mistake which is dangerous for carpets is to walk with your shoes on them. You should never do that, because there is a lot of dirt on your shoes and you bring it all inside. Sand and mud damage the fabrics, and the bacteria that you transfer to your rug can endanger your health. It is a very good idea to put a doormat on your front door, so that you reduce the amount of dirt and bacteria you bring in your house to the minimum. Regular vacuuming is a very good practice. Try to vacuum your carpets at least three times a week. This way you will prevent domestic dust from building up. The use of professional carpet cleaning services, like of Aussie Carpet Clean Weybridge, is also very important for the good condition and looks of carpets. Professional cleaners remove dirt which you can't see and reach with your equipment, and keep the colours of floorings fresh and bright. Moreover, they prolong the life of carpets and protect the fabrics from future stains and accidents.I hope you like my tips and put them into use in your household.
