Art really stands tall today. Drawing is nothing new. But today, it has indeed taken people by storm. There are thousands who love drawing. Most do this as a pastime or a hobby, but there are many in this world who would like to build a career around drawing... provided they know that they have it in them to be successful.A tad bit of confusion still remains about what the ability to draw actually is. What the talent is and the knowledge really entails...Knowledge and talent are often intertwined. Knowledge is not talent. Just knowing about drawing and not having the talent will result in a piece of work that can't be titled successful. The talent being there is again, not enough. There has to be a means of show casing it in order for everyone to be able to see and know about how well you are.In simple words, vision on paper is described as drawing.More significantly, the vision is very individualistic. What comes out on the paper is based on individual observation, interest, philosophy, perception, character and a number of other factors such as these which come from one base. It should never be anything else and more specifically, it can't be so either. If it is, there is no room for success. Drawing can be directly connected to many different creative art forms. All of these art forms have the sole purpose of expressing and make people realize what is going on inside the artist. What Does An Artist Want Out Of Their Drawings? We have the desire to make people look or to listen and we want their appreciation. We, perhaps, want admiration for our work and our sweat that is seen on the paper. May be we want to know that we are indeed worthy. Something like this is probably a means of showing ourselves that we are useful or may be simply fulfilling our basic necessities that we need to achieve in one way or the other. All of us who have chosen art to channelize our expression must always remember that there are basics we need to know about in order to progress. There are basics in music, drama and literature too. Art is no exception.Sadly though, art does not have clearly defined fundamentals like so many other activities do.Your singularity, for one...Remember that your uniqueness and your distinctive attitude will take you to top in creative fields. You need to stand out from the rest in order to be recognized and appreciated. One can never improvise by gaining more and more knowledge about this craft on the whole and not confine himself to just one person's work or his own work for that matter.Pooled knowledge in drawing is very important. A man can't teach unless he has his own work to showcase as proof or as an example. Just like in other fields like science, there has to be absorption of the knowledge as well as contribution.Take for instance that there are two drawings. One is appealing while the other isn't. You term one as good but the other as bad. But why? There are reasons that I know I will be able to highlight and these reasons will be comprehensible. Weird as it may sound, these reasons will not appear in art books or in art classes Whether a drawing appeals to a person depends on whether it relates to the person's emotions and experiences. This is not something that is taught. This is inbuilt. But again, an artist can't be successful unless he understands well or at least understands it to some extent. An artist may be successful and spend all his/her life creating masterpieces without even realizing why his/her work is so appealing. Many successful artists indeed don't realize what is so appealing about their drawings or learning how to draw. They thank heaven for it though.
