Traffic,Generation,Tip,Putting DIY Traffic Generation Tip - Putting that old Machine back into
When starting a new work at home business it is very easy to become consumed by it. We spend so much time trying to get the business up and running that we may end up becoming burned out and lose our motivation. There is so much to learn and Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable{mso-style-name:"Table Normal";mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0;mso-tstyle-colband-size:0;mso-style-noshow:yes;mso-style-parent:"";mso-padding-alt:0in
Most of us now seem to have them knocking somewhere around the house. The desktop or worktop computer you used to own until a year or so back when you replaced it for the newer, higher speed machine you have today. Even if you're still on your first machine, its a good bet that sooner or later you'll be thinking of jumping up to Vista, or getting that dual core processor for the games machine of your dreams. Perhaps in 12 months time it will be this machine, that you're reading from now, that will be left gathering dust in your garage, shed, loft or some other storage zone. With the price of brand new machines dropping all the time, this phenomenon will no doubt become more and more familiar. Also, while these prices continue to drop it makes the prospects for selling on used machines at a reasonable price less of a valid proposition. So we end up with that old machine in an upsetting "too old to use or sell, too new to ditch" catch 22 situation. (of course if you do do eventually pick the 'ditch' option remember to dispose of old hardware in a 'Green' way, after first ensuring the hard drives are physically destroyed for security). So, instead of leaving the machine sat there in the corner, why not spend an hour or so turning it into an 'Automatic Traffic Generator for your website'. A small amount of setup time, a power socket and a spare internet connection are all you need to create a 'hands-free hits machine to drive traffic to the URL of your choice'. And how will we do this? By harnessing the power of the multitude of Auto-Surf Traffic Exchanges that are out there. You know the kind: let your browser view 3 of our pages and we'll show 2 of your pages on other browsers. The effectiveness, and even the usefulness of such exchanges are of course debatable, but at the end of the day we believe that traffic is traffic, and exposure is exposure. Something's better than nothing right?* Dust off the cobwebs, and power the computer back up to your home network. Ensure the o/s is up to date (especially all security enhancements and patches), and ensure that updates are set to occur automatically. Ensure you also have a Firewall and Anti Virus setup, again both set to Auto Update. There are plenty of free tools out there which run happily in 'maintenance free, hands off mode' so that no user intervention is required to keep things running and safe.* Setup a new user account on your machine that can have as restricted access as you like. Then via the Control Panel Users menu, change the way users log on or off, so that when the machine starts up it automatically logs in as this new user (Meaning that when you hit the power button, it will go straight to the users Start menu and Desktop without prompting for password).* Sign Up for your preferred Auto Surf Exchange. As already discussed, there are a multitude of exchanges out there. Don't bother signing up for one that costs anything here, just aim for a FREE one. A quick web search via Google or Yahoo will show you the choice. The key here is to pick an established, and large exchange. There's no point signing up for the latest and greatest scheme, that offers a 1:1 hit ratio when they've only got another 100 users to choose from. That means the same 100 websites will keep coming up, and worse, only a pool of 100 users will ever see your site to click through to its content. (Tip: Look for traffic exchanges that don't allow Pop-Ups or Pop-Under. These are less likely to halt the Auto Surfer and leave you with a machine sat waiting for your input to continue, remember the goal here is hands free, user intervention at a minimum). If you can't decide which hit exchange to use we have a basic one running at cashbooster.com which you are welcome to signup for,* Set you Surf Page URL as your Internet Explorer's default homepage (or the equivalent for whichever browser you use). The Surf Page URL is the link address you are given by the AutoSurf site, and where you would normally browse to manually to start the auto exchange rotation for a session. By setting this as the homepage, then the browser will automatically start collecitng you hits as soon the browser starts.* Paste a shortcut for Internet Explorer, or Equivalent, into the Windows 'Startup' folder. After doing this you have a 'Set it and Forget it' system configured. Every time the machine starts it will automatically log in, start the web browser, and start surfing. You're done! Now, all that's needed it to turn the machine on and off for the duration of the browsing sessions you want. Check back in on it every now and then to ensure some naughty page breaker hasn't stopped things (and if this happens frequently consider changing your traffic exchange). If you want to complicate/enhance things further, then you could consider adding a rotator as your homepage and linking to multiple start exchanges. Of course if the website page you are promoting (the one your traffic exchange sends earnt traffic back to) contains extra marketing material (such as banners, links to other click exchanges etc.) then the amount of traffic you can generate with this technique is limited only by the amount of time you leave the machine running!
